H/W writing at length : Opinion Piece Plan

Types of poverties that there are today

Spiritual Poverty

This is when people don’t care about their soul or spirit they have no meaning to their life they are always stressing about how hard their life is and do not have hope on eternal life for anything like that .Having hope that their is a better place where you can go when you die or at least believing that there is a God to protect you

Intellectual Poverty

The poverty of not thinking that you are better than what you imagine. You thinking you are rubbish and nothing else can fix you .That you cannot be better than what you already are.

Poverty of Solidarity

The poverty of having someone by your side.Family comes naturally but in your natural environmental you need someone apart from your family because you won’t always have them.

Economic Poverty

Scavengers will always make roughly £2 and that only helps with buying a meal to survive the day it does not give you access to the normal human services. This is why you need generosity and help from the rich to give to the poor because by balancing the scale the world would be better and there would be much more opportunities.

Row A : Parsing

I Have chosen 2 quotes relating to poverty seeing as we are focusing on poverty this term.

Quote 1:

The way to turn our economy around is not by making rich people poorer, it’s by making poor people richer.
By:Marco Rubio

In this quote we have to different type of meanings in 1.Marco says he does not want rich people to become poorer but for poorer to become richer. In my opinion I believe this would mean for the rich to donate to ways of improving the lifestyle of the poor people and also benefiting them profitably as well, a good example of this would be to start creating jobs for them there and creating houses so you would being to create an economy which would need to be founded at the start but will soon expand and balance itself out and then your profit will begin to enter.

Quote 2:

As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.

Henry David Thoreau

In this quote Henry says that life will become much simpler as it goes on and on and things will be lost as life goes on such as poverty hate.He in others is trying to say us humans will create a better place in this world . The writer makes you think that this is true by putting himself in your position and a thoughts in a way.He uses the power of your to persuade you to think that in your mind you know that it’s actually happening.

Life is a dream for the wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, a tragedy for the poor.

Sholom Aleichem

In this quote it says that “life” is like a dream for the smart ones. For the dumb ones its just a game you get to the end at it is over. For the rich ones life is just a joke(comedy) and for the poor the worst thing ever.

HWK Row A

Charles Dickens creates Scrooge’s character by describing him in various different forms. Just like the following:

“but he was tight-fisted”In this small quote Charles Dickens refers to Scrooge as tight-fisted ( means someone that is not willing to spend or give much money)which is exactly what Scrooge is, a person that only wants to make money for himself but not to share it out but to actually keep and not spend it in anything else.Charles then says “The cold within him froze his old features”This gives the reader and idea that Scrooge was never like this, he did have a good side apart from the “a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner”So this means somewhere in the past Scrooge did have a warm heart and did get well with others and possibly even shared money .

“External heat and cold had little influence on Scrooge”Charles says this to give the reader the thought that no type of  temperature or weather could change Scrooge’s emotion apart from the ones described above so this means that Scrooge only had 1 goal and this was to save as much money as he can and spend almost nothing. This would relate to him not having many conversations with others seeing as people do tend to change mood depending to the weather and temperature.”Nobody ever stopped him in the street to say, with gladsome looks”This is very obvious why.No one will ever want to talk to someone that is very anti-social and those not think on anything else but money so no one want to talk to him apart from his employee Bob.
